The Holmes Report - 10/24/06

ATLANTA—Technology public relations specialist Trevelino/Keller Communications Group has formed a new practice that will focus on green products, services and initiatives. The GreenWorks practice will help clients communicate organic, alternative, clean, eco-friendly and hybrid messages, leveraging its existing practices in smart technology, business to business and consumer.

“Green is moving into the mainstream,” says principal Genna Keller. “It’s made its way from those who are environmentally centric to people and companies who understand that GreenWorkstk may be the most forward-thinking mantra one can embrace. With our relationships and programs, we hope to educate our clients and our marketplace about the true business value of green practices.”

The firm is tapping into the core competency of several leading green groups such as the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability Forum. LOHAS describes a $228.9 billion U.S. marketplace for goods and services focused on health, the environment, social justice, personal development and sustainable living.

Earlier this month, Trevelino/Keller launched The Weather Channel’s broadband initiative dedicated to climate change, One Degree.

The firm has also made a commitment to sustainable business practices. “We recognized as a first step, it was important for our firm to be climate neutral,” says founder Dean Trevelino. “The company has purchased wind and methane offsets, supporting the development of clean, renewable energy and is also dedicated to environmentally preferable purchasing and teleconferencing and videoconferencing are used rather than travel when practical.”

Via its GreenWorks@Work program, an effort to give back to the community with an emphasis on green and children, the company has contributed to Trees Atlanta, The Sierra Club, The Atlanta Botanical Garden and Oakhurst Garden.

Trevelino/Keller is the second public relations firm—following Text 100 last week—to announce a new green technologies practice.

“What clients like about a team-owned firm is they know we are ‘always on,’ never taking our eye off of our most important assets—them.”
